  • What are your hours of operation?

The Valley Child Development Center is open from 6:45 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

  • Where is the center located?

Our address is 500 West A Ave, Red Cloud, NE

  • What ages do you serve?

Based on the availability and openings, our facility admits children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age.
Children are admitted without regard to race, culture, sex, religion, national origin, or disability. We do not discriminate on the basis of special needs as long as a safe, supportive environment can be provided.

  • Do you take childcare subsidy?

Yes, we also offer tuition assistance.
Families who receive Subsidy Tuition Assistance will be required to pay out of pocket until subsidy paperwork is finalized. Once paperwork is finalized by the state, families are responsible for any co-pay fees at the beginning of each month. If your child goes over the allotted approved hours, you will be responsible for paying the outstanding balance each month.

  • Do you take part-time or drop-ins?

Yes, each family will sign up for either a part time contract (1-3 days) or a full time contract (4-5 days). To best serve your child and allow us to be properly staffed, contract fees will be enforced regardless of illness or vacation/absent days. For families who do not attend in the summer, a spot hold fee is available for each child in the family. Each age group has a different fee, please see the director for more information. This fee comes with fifteen days of care in the summer. You may choose not to pay for a spot hold, however if your child/children’s spot can be filled your child/children’s classroom may be at capacity in the Fall.

  • When is a payment due?

Payment is due by Friday evening for the upcoming week’s attendance. Payments are accepted weekly or monthly and can be paid with cash, check, credit card or through electronic bank transfers. Tuition is based on contract, not attendance. Your contract can be changed 2 times a year.

  • What is your policy on late pickups?

Late pick-up is not a normal program option and will only be considered as an exceptional occurrence. A $10 late fee will be charged if the child remains after 5:30. Late fees will automatically be billed to your account.

  • What meals do you provide?

Children will have meals and snacks provided at 8:15, 10:00, 11:30, and 2:00. After school child care participants will be offered a light snack after school. Breakfast, AM snack, lunch, and PM snack are offered on full days of attendance at TVCDC.

  • What is your illness policy?

Children must be free of fever, vomiting, and diarrhea for 24 hours; have been treated with an antibiotic for 24 hours; or provide a physician’s note stating that the child is no longer contagious and may return. More details can be found in the Family Handbook.

  • What are the qualifications for staff?

The Valley Child Development Center follows the Nebraska DHHS Handbook for childcare professionals hiring guidelines.
